Offered are two checks signed by famed filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille. With 70 films to his credit, DeMille is often considered the founding father of Hollywood filmmaking. Both 3 x 8 ¼ inch light green checks were drawn from Bank of America in Los Angeles. The first check, numbered 20923 and dated January 10, 1958, was made out to “TIFFANY & CO” for $365.00. The “DESCRIPTION” on the check references “statement” and DeMille signed his name in black ink on the signature line. The signature shows light bleeding at the end of his name, but is still legible. The second check, numbered 1007 was made out to “SOUTHERN ARIZONA SCHOOL FOR BOYS” in the amount of $775.00. The “DESCRIPTION” on this check indicates that $700.00 was for “Final tuition” and $75.00 was for “drawing fund”. DeMille signed his name on the signature line and the signature is clear. These signed checks from one of the great pioneers of the film industry have been encapsulated by PSA/DNA (83918548 & 83918549) and been graded AUTHENTIC.
