Offered is rare flyer dated October 10, 1957 featuring Martin Luther King. This 6 ½ x 9 ¼ inch white flyer is affixed to a 9 x 11 inch black paper backing. Titled in blue is “The Chicago Women’s Committee of The United Negro College Fund” and below that is a picture of King with Dr. Edwin T. Dahlberg, who at that time was the newly elected National Council President. Affixed to the flyer is a 1 ¼ x 3 ¾ inch blue ticket stub from the event. Below the ticket stub is printed in blue:
“A Report From the South by MARTIN LUTHER KING , JR. Minister of the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church, and leader of the Montgomery, Alabama, bus boycott. Program Chairman Robert Sargent Shriver, JR. President, Chicago Board of Education October 10, 1957 . Orchestra Hall” This flyer is in excellent condition and the letters and pictures are still clear. This is a great collectible featuring one of America’s great civil rights leaders.
