An event that served as a catalyst for the Civil Rights Movement in America, the 1955 murder of Emmit Till in Mississippi helped to shed light on the growing injustices being mounted against African Americans in the south. In the months following Till’s death outrage spread through the States, as evidenced by this Mass Meeting flyer promoting a rally in Cincinnati, OH. The approximately 5X8” flyer has been matted and framed to 9X12” dimensions, and comes with a newspaper article from 8/31/15 taped to the back of the frame, marking the 60th anniversary of Till’s brutal murder.
