Augie Galan was a tough outfielder on the rough and tumble Cubs teams of the 1930’s and the 1940’s Leo Durocher-led Brooklyn Dodgers. Galan was a three-time All-Star and baseball-lifer who would spend the rest of his life managing and coaching in the Athletics organization. This gorgeous old Hillerich & Bradsby dates from Galan’s last seasons with Chicago and his first years with Durocher’s Bums in Brooklyn.
The Hillerich & Bradsby 34.75 inch and 32.6 ounce bat matches the specifications of those ordered by Galan during the 1939-43 period. The bat displays light use and is un-cracked. The deep brown finish adds to the nostalgic beauty of this bat and it comes with a Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA (1B10325).
