Presented in this lot are three awards given to Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana. The first award was given to him on October 29, 1981 by the County of Washington (Pennsylvania) for the “Distinguished Citizen Award” “for the outstanding achievement in the field of Professional & College Football and carrying the heritage of Washington County to all people.” This award is on an 11 x 13 inch wood backing.
The second award was presented to Montana for “Joe Montana Day” that was made a “Resolution by the Washington County Commissioners. As stated in the award, “Joe Montana Day” was made on April 17, 1982. This award is on an 11 x 13 inch wood backing.
The last award was presented to Montana by the City of Youngstown, Ohio for the “Proclamation” of “Joe Montana Day” for Sunday, May 23, 1982. This proclamation is on 8 x 14 inch paper and framed to a similar dimension and includes the gold seal with the attached red, white and blue ribbon, signed by then Mayor George Vukovich.
