Hall of Famer David “Deacon” Jones was presented this “OUTSTANDING ATHLETIC AWARD” from South Carolina State College Athletic Hall of Fame on November 4, 1983. This 12 x 16 inch award on a solid wood backing was given to Jones “In recognition of and appreciation for distinguished service to the South Carolina State College Athletic Program in Football 1957 and 1958”. The award is displayed in off-white with a red border and blue print. A nice piece of memorabilia from one of football’s greatest players.
