The Doak Walker Legends Award was created in 1998, as a way to honor former collegiate running backs that have gone on to establish themselves as leaders in the community. Barry Sanders, former standout back at Oklahoma State University and Pro Football Hall of Famer was named the 2015 recipient of the award, which is presented by the PwC SMU Athletic Forum. Sanders accepted the honor on February 19, 2016 at an awards banquet in Dallas, TX. This replica leather football helmet, featuring a tag on the front that reads “pwc Doak Walker Legends Award Barry Sanders, February 19, 2016,” has been signed in bold silver marker to the right of the tag by Sanders. This signed leather helmet comes with a COA from JSA (P01918).
