On May 17, 1998, New York Yankees pitcher David Wells became the 15th player in Major League history to toss a perfect game. The Yankees defeated the Minnesota Twins 4-0 as the big lefty struck out 11 batters and threw 120 pitches during his historic start. Offered is one of the baseballs used during the game. This Official American League Gene A. Budig baseball shows heavy game use with dirt stains evidence of being rubbed down. The blue stampings are clear and Wells signed his name bold blue pen on the sweet spot and inscribed “0-0-0 5/17/98”. This game used and signed baseball comes with a LOA from Wells’ teammate Homer Bush authenticating this ball’s use during the game and a COA from PSA/DNA (AB73322) for his signature.
