Charles “Chief” Bender pitched in the Major Leagues from 1903 – 1925 for the Philadelphia Athletics, Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago White Sox. The three-time World Champion had three complete game shutouts during the 1911 World Series as a member of the A’s and was elected into the Hall of Fame in 1953. This trimmed 5 ½ x 6 ¾ black and white photograph shows Bender in his Athletics uniform leaning forward with his right arm leaning against his right knee and his left hand holding his hip. This photograph has been signed “Chief” Bender on the lower right corner in dark blue pen and inscribed “1951”. This signed photograph comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (AA07629).
