Mired in at-best mediocrity, the Cleveland Cavaliers were in desperate need for a jolt in the early 2000s. Luckily for the Cavaliers, they were the lucky winners of the 2003 Draft Lottery, with the top prize being that of Akron, Ohio native LeBron James. Like Magic Johnson, Larry Bird and Michael Jordan before him, James’ catapulted the downtrodden Cavaliers into instant respectability and continuous title contenders until his surprising departure to Miami before the start of the 2010-11 season.

James signed his name in black marker on the right sneaker and inscribed “23”, while the left shoe was personalized “To (sic) Love You Most”.
