3,010 career hits and a lifetime average of .328 was just a dream in the mind of rookie Wade Boggs when he was swinging this bat. The Louisville Slugger R161 model bat dates to the 1980-1983 period when Boggs was just beginning his 18-year dominance of AL pitching.

The bat shows excellent use. There is a crack on the back barrel and a piece missing that has been repaired. “WB” is hand written on the knob end in black marker. A moderate coat of pine tar is on the handle and cleat marks are visible on the barrel. A great bat from the very start of Boggs’ Hall of Fame career. This bat comes with a Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA (1B10306).
