Ridden by 18-year-old Steve Cauthen, Affirmed held off a hard charging Alydar to win the first leg of his Triple Crown, the last horse to attain this honor until the historic run of American Pharoah in 2015. This large stub is dated "May 6, 1978" and has “1978 KENTUCKY DERBY” in bold red print. This ticket has been encapsulated by PSA/DNA (15705897) and graded as “EX-MT 6”.
