1957 was a pivotal year for the Dodgers’ franchise. It would be the last season in Brooklyn as both the Dodgers and Giants left New York for the West Coast for the 1958 seasons. This Official National League Warren C. Giles baseball has been signed by twenty-seven members of that last team in Brooklyn. The baseball displays toning from age and the signatures have been penned in light blue ink.
Signatures include: Hall of Famers Billy Herman and Manager Walter Alston on the sweet spot, Pee Wee Reese, Duke Snider, Roy Campanella and Sandy Koufax. Other signatures include Carl Furillo, Don Bessent, Rube Walker, Charlie Neal, Jake Pitler, Gil Hodges, Joe Pignatano, Sandy Amoros, Jim Gilliam, Don Newcombe, Don Zimmer, Greg Mulleavy, Ransom Jackson, Carl Erskine, Johnny Podres, Roger Craig, Ed Roebuck, Elmer Valo, Gino Cimoli, Danny McDevitt, and Bob Kennedy. This piece of Brooklyn Dodgers history comes with a full LOA from JSA (Y87300).
