On top of the world in 1913, winner of the MVP and Triple Crown, Walter Johnson was the headliner in King Pin Brand's deluxe salesman's sample book of clothing swatches promoting their tailoring services. (Chief Bender and Ed Walsh were also featured.) Here, in what we believe to be the sole surviving copy of his page, the Big Train is humbly captioned as "JOHNSON of the Washington Americans." Visible dimensions of approximately 17 x 20 inches show bright, bold colors on the iconic portrait image and surrounding design. Incredibly, the original cloth swatches and pricing label are fully intact and practically unaffected by time. Apparent EX-MT overall with some light spotting at upper right. Elegantly matted and framed to measure 25 x 29 inches.
