The House that Ruth Built, Yankee Stadium officially opened on April 18, 1923, earning its nickname quickly when Babe Ruth belted a third inning 3-run homer to defeat the visiting Boston Red Sox 4-1. Offered are (2) historical letters from the White Construction Co., Inc, regarding the construction of Yankee Stadium in Bronx, NY. Dated June 12th, 1923 and September 13th, 1923, the 2 letters reference contract, payment and insurance coverage for “the Yankee Stadium, New York City, American League Base Ball Club of N.Y., owners.” The September letter exhibits some fold creases, and both letters have been signed by the appropriate personnel.
