Following the 2015 MLB season, David Ortiz made the announcement that he would retire following the 2016 season. With the season now drawing to a close, “Big Papi” has made it clear that he is going out on his own terms, still playing at a highly competitive level and determined to help bring one more title to Bean Town. Ortiz has signed this Official Manfred Major League baseball in blue ink on the sweet spot, and surrounded the signature on both sides with a rundown of his career home run highlights. Inscribed to the left of his signature, “1st HR 9-14-97 100 HR 5-28-04 200 HR 6-29-06”, while the panel to the right of the signature reads “300 HR 7-9-09 400 HR 7-4-12 500 HR 9-12-15”. The ball has been marked with a handwritten limited edition 5/34, and comes tagged with MLB Authentication hologram #JB037571.
