Recently retired Alex Rodriguez was the prized prospect for the Seattle Mariners in the mid-1990s. After playing in 17 games in 1994, Rodriguez would split time between Mariners and the AAA Tacoma Rainiers of the Pacific Coast League in 1995. Eventually, Rodriguez was permanently called up in August of 1995, where he ended up playing in 48 games with a .232 average, five home runs and 19 RBI. Rodriguez also saw some action in the 1995 postseason with two at-bats.
This size 46 Russell Athletic home white Seattle Mariners button-down jersey was worn by Rodriguez during the 1995 season. This jersey shows light wear with puckering on the name and number, along with slight fraying on the tail tags from was wear. “MARINERS” is sewn on across the chest in navy blue, teal and silver tackle-twill. Navy blue piping runs along the collar and down both sides of the buttons. The back of the jersey has “RODRIGUEZ” sewn on in navy blue and teal on a matching white name plate and his number “3” sewn below his name in navy blue and teal. The right sleeve has a “75th COMMEMORATIVE YEAR THE NEGRO LEAGUES” patch above the navy blue embroidered Russell Athletic logo, while the left sleeve has the circular Mariners logo patch. The Russell Athletic tag with the (2” EXTRA LENGTH) flag and “95” tag are sewn on the bottom front left tail. This jersey comes with a full LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
