Former pitcher Dave Stewart compiled 168-129 record over 16 years in the Major Leagues with five different teams. Best known for being the ace of the great Oakland A’s teams of the late 1980s, Stewart would ultimately win three World Series titles with three different teams (’81 Dodgers, ’89 A’s, ’93 Blue Jays).
Offered is a rare jersey worn by Stewart while during his time with the Texas Rangers. This Wilson size 42 button-down blue alternate jersey was worn by Stewart during the 1985 season. This jersey features “Rangers” sewn on across the chest in cursive white and red tackle twill with the number “48” sewn on below the team name on the left center chest. “STEWART” is sewn on in white tackle twill on a matching blue name plate on the back of the jersey, along with the number “48”, which is sewn on in white on red tackle twill. The collar has a red and white ribbed material that is capped where the two front ends meet, while each sleeve has a red, white and blue ribbed material end. The left sleeve has “Rangers” Texas state patch sewn on the sleeve and the Wilson Size 42 tag, along with the blue patch with “85 1” are sewn on the inside back neck. The jersey shows moderate game use and comes with a full LOA from Mears, who have graded this game used jersey a “9.5”.
