After winning the College World Series with the Texas Longhorns, Roger Clemens claimed his diploma and reported straight to the minor leagues. Signing with Boston, the young fireballer boasted a 7-2 record with a minuscule 1.88 ERA for Winter Haven (FL) and New Britain (CT) and was scheduled for delivery to the Majors the next season.

These Spot-Bilt cleats were worn by the young Rocket during 1983, the very start of a career that would bring him seven Cy Young Awards and two Pitching Triple Crowns. The cleats show good game use with the usual scuffing to the leather body. The white laces are intact and like the leather show good wear. The white leather logo’s on the sides of the cleats show scuffing and toning from age. The Spot-Bilt labels are intact. The cleats are intact and displays wear and turf marks from the field. The underside of each cleat’s tongue has Clemens’ soon to be famous number “21” hand written in black marker. His number is repeated in faded red marker on the inside ankle of each cleat. Clemens has signed the white leather ankle trim on the outside of each cleat in pen. A great piece of the very beginning of Roger Clemens’ Hall of Fame-bound career. COAs from PSA/DNA (AB41526) and a JT Sports LOA.
