This button-down NY Mets cream-colored pinstripe jersey was game worn by third baseman David Wright on Opening Day of the 2014 MLB season at Citi Field in Flushing, NY. Wright got out of the gate quickly, going 3-5 with a home run and 2 RBI, but the Mets would fall to the visiting Washington Nationals 9-7 in 10-innings.
The jersey features “METS” across the chest, “WRIGHT” across the back, and his #5 on both the front and back, all in blue-on-orange tackle twill. A Mets Skyline Logo patch can be found on the left sleeve above a stitched Majestic logo, while a circular black microphone patch that reads “Ralph Kiner 1922-2014” adorns the right sleeve, in honor of the late Mets announcer. The Majestic Cool Base manufacturer’s tag, size 46, is on the front left tail of the jersey, along with a Majestic barcode tag that reads “#5 46C +1B -0.5S ’14 S1”. The jersey shows moderate game usage, and comes with MLB Authentication hologram (EK 678527).
