This dirt covered bag was used as second base during the first two innings of the Los Angeles Angels 8-4 victory over the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium on August 15, 2013. Alex Rodriguez was one of just three batters to advance as far as second in the first two innings of the ballgame, while Alfonso Soriano was thrown out at the base attempting to stretch a single to a double in the bottom of the first.
The bag features the “Schutt,” “Original Hollywood Bases” and “Jack Corbett” logos on top along with the official Major League Baseball logo. The underside of the base, also dirt stained around the borders, features the inscription “8/15/13 2nd Base Inn 1-2” in bold, blue Sharpie and has month and year manufacturer markings. Each side of the base features New York Yankees logo plates, two of which are white with navy blue writing, while the other two are navy blue with white writing. This item is tagged with a MLB Authenticated hologram (EK 800116), and comes with an LOA from Steiner Sports (202779).
