This one-page document, dated December 22, 1985, details the Power of Attorney given by Muhammad Ali to his former spouse Khalilah T. Ali. It states in part: “SCOPE OF AUTHORITY. In my name, place and stead, in any way which I myself could do if I were personally present, with respect to the following matters as to each of them, to the estent that I am permitted by law to act through an agent:
(a) To execute all documents and disburse all proceeds relative to the sale of the following described real estate property:”
The document describes the property on Orchard Drive in the municipality of Mt. Lebanon in Allegheny County Pennsylvania. The document has been signed in bold blue pen by Ali above his printed name at the bottom and signed by Notary Public Jesse Outlaw who signed above the printed “NOTARY PUBLIC” line after the statement:
“I, JESSE OUTLAW, DO HEREBY CERTIFY THAT MUHAMMAD ALI, personally known to me to be the same person whose name is subscribed to the foregoing instrumet, appeared before me this day in person, and acknowledged that he signed and delivered the instrument as his free and voluntary act for the use and purposes therein set forth.”
