With the exception of Babe Ruth, no man in the pre-war era had as much power or earned as much respect then Jimmie Foxx. The affable muscle man headed the explosive offense that made Connie Mack's 1929-31 Philadelphia A's teams one of the greatest dynasties in professional sports. Foxx's tremendous Hall of Fame career combined with early death in 1967 makes any Double X signed material extremely desirable - none more so than a single-signed “DETROIT TIGERS” ball.
Offered is a single-signed Wilson baseball with Jimmie Foxx prominently signed in bold black ballpoint pen on the sweet spot that also has a “DETROIT TIGERS” and Tiger logo stamps on the opposite sweet spot and adjoin side panel. This creamy white and slightly toned baseball with red stitching displays beautifully and comes with full LOA from PSA/DNA (65019089), who have graded Foxx’s signature as a “7” and the baseball a “5” for an overall grade of “6”. There is also an additional LOA from JSA (B44259) for this rare single-signed piece from a tough Hall of Famer and 500 HR Club member.
