Offered here is a signed photograph of Muhammad Ali and Ken Norton taken during the third fight between the two legendary heavyweight boxers.
The fight, which took place at Yankee Stadium, went the distance. Ali won the fight by unanimous decision, although not without controversy. Many boxing fans claim that Norton was the superior fighter that day, landing almost 100 more punches than Ali, and connecting with 45% of his punches compared to Ali’s 28%. However, the judges thought Ali was the better fighter, scoring the fight 8-7, 8-7, and 8-6 in Ali’s favor. The victory was the 53rd in Ali’s career, and saw him retain the WBA, WBC, The Ring, and lineal heavyweight titles. Norton would become heavyweight champion in 1978, after Ali lost to Leon Spinks.
This full-color photograph is 20 x 24 inches and signed in gold pen by Muhammad Ali. This item comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (AB13012).
