Hall of Famer Roberto Alomar spent his only full season with the New York Mets in 2002 and wore this button-down alternate black Rawlings button-down jersey for that season. The jersey has “NEW YORK” across the chest in blue, white and orange tackle twill. Blue piping runs along the collar and down each side of the buttons and on each sleeve. Alomar’s number “12” is sewn on the front left center and on the back in the same blue, white and orange pattern. “ALOMAR” is sewn on the back above his number “12” in blue, white and orange tackle twill with each sleeve having a patch. The left sleeve has the Mets circular skyline logo patch and the right sleeve has a commemorative “1962-2002 40th Anniversary” patch along with a “9-11-01” embroidered in black between two waving American flags. The Rawlings tag is sewn on the inside front left tail with the “SET 1 2002” flap adjacent to it. Alomar signed his name vertically in silver marker and inscribed “12” on the “1” on the back of the jersey.

This jersey shows light use and comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (AB11528) for the signature and a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema for the game use. Also included with this lot is a hand written letter of provenance from Stephen Costello, who details how he obtained this jersey. Also pictured in this lot, is the receipt from P.C. Richard & Son, where he worked. Please note that the receipt from P.C. Richard & Son will not be include with this item.
