One of the most effective sinkerball pitchers of the last two decades, Carl Pavano was an all-star and World Series champion for the Florida Marlins. Pavano played for a plethora of teams during his 14-year career, winning 108 games. In 2010, Pavano led the league in both shutouts and complete games for the Minnesota Twins. Pavano wore this jersey during the Majestic button-down New York Yankees home jersey during the 2005 season, the first of his three years with the New York Yankees.
This Yankees home jersey features the interlocking “NY” logo sewn on the front left breast in navy blue tackle twill. Pavano’s number “45” is sewn on the back in navy blue tackle twill. An MLB logo is present on the outside of the back collar. The Majestic tag with “2005” and “[size] 50” flags is sewn on the front left tail. This item comes with a full LOA from MEARS, who graded it a perfect A10. Also included with this lot is a hand written letter of provenance from Stephen Costello, who details how he obtained this jersey. Also pictured in this lot, is the receipt from P.C. Richard & Son, where he worked. Please note that the receipt from P.C. Richard & Son will not be include with this item.
