Offered here is a New York Yankees home jersey signed and inscribed by late Yankees owner George Steinbrenner. “The Boss”, born in 1930, bought the Yankees in 1973 for a $10 million and owned the team until his death in 2010. Steinbrenner revived the moribund Yankees, who struggled during the late 1960s and early 1970s, and delivered seven World Series titles to the Bronx during his ownership. A hands-on owner, Steinbrenner was known for his domineering personality and strict rules, including a ban on his players or employees growing beards or long hair.
Steinbrenner signed this #1 Jersey in silver Sharpie on the #1, inscribing “The King of New York!” after his signature. This item comes with PSA/DNA STICKER ONLY (D89991).
