Featured is an autographed painted baseball of Mike Piazza by famous sports artist LeRoy Neiman. Mike Piazza was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2016 as New York Met. Piazza made his debut in 1992 and in 1993 was named the National League Rookie of the Year. Piazza would go on to be a 12 time All-Star, 10 of those being consecutive. Piazza is arguably one of the best offensive catchers in history, having 427 home runs, a .308 batting average and 1,335 RBI.
This featured ball is a Rawlings Major League Baseball. Artist LeRoy Neiman has painted over this ball with the bottom panel displaying a small painting of Piazza batting with his Mets uniform clearly visible. The upper panel contain Neiman’s signature in blue ink, inscribed “99”. The sweet spot of the ball is signed by Mike Piazza himself in blue ink. The ball shows some signs of aging, as the color of the ball appears a bit stained, nevertheless, the image painted on the ball is in excellent condition, as Piazza’s image is clearly visible. Included with this ball is a COA from PSA/DNA (AB73321).
