In his second season in the Majors, Cincinnati Reds center fielder Eric Davis was already being compared to Willie Mays. Davis was one of those rare "5-Tool Players", able to hit for average and power, throw and field and run the bases with equal above average ability. This W.A. Goodman & Sons size 42 pullover white jersey was worn by Davis during his first two full seasons with the Reds. W.A. Goodman & Sons were the official uniform supplier of the Cincinnati Reds in 1985 and 1986. This jersey features “44” sewn on in red and white tackle twill on the upper right chest and the Reds’ logo sewn on in red and white tackle twill on the upper left chest. “DAVIS” and “44” are sewn directly on the back in red and white tackle twill. The v-neck color is a red/white/red color pattern with each sleeve having and white and red stretch band sewn on. Davis signed his name in blue marker directly below the Reds logo on the front. The manufacturer’s tag is sewn on the bottom front left tail. The jersey exhibits light game usage and there is slight bleeding of the red twill on the white numbers and white trim. This jersey comes with an LOA from noted game use expert Dave Miedema for the game use and a full LOA from PSA/DNA (AC04041) for the signature.
