Presented here are two photographs of the 1986 Mets after their World Series win over the Boston Red Sox. Easily one of the most exciting World Series, the New York Mets and the Boston Red Sox played all seven games that saw the New York Mets pull an incredible come from behind victory. Game 6 is a notorious reminder that anything can happen in sports, as the Mets had fallen behind the Red Sox in the top of the 10th inning, however turned it around in the bottom of the 10th and capped off by the ground ball from Mookie Wilson that went through Bill Buckner’s legs and scored Ray Knight with the winning run. They would win Game 7 to win their second World Series title.
These photographs have captured the excitement from that moment in time. Many of the members of this legendary team have signed these photographs in blue ink.
