Offered here is a poster of Gary Carter, signed by members of the 1986 New York Mets. This vibrant watercolor poster is full of bright colors and deliberate brush strokes. Made for the 2003 Hall of Fame induction of Mets and Montreal Expos catcher Gary Carter, this poster features paintings of “The Kid” as both an Expo and a Met, as well as a portrait of him wearing an MLB Hall of Fame cap. Carter was inducted into the Hall of Fame as an Expo, but perhaps earned his most fame as the cornerstone of the 1980’s Mets. One of only four players to be named as captain of the Mets, Carter was a crucial factor in the Mets picking up their second ever World Series title in 1986. Carter tragically passed away in 2012, at the age of 57.
This photograph is signed by Carter, his teammates, and numerous members of the 1986 Mets, including Doc Gooden, Darryl Strawberry, Davey Johnson, Mel Stottlemyre, Mookie Wilson, Keith Hernandez, Lenny Dykstra, Ray Knight, Jesse Orosco, and others. All the signatures are written in black Sharpie, with Carter’s in marquee position on the white border below the poster. This poster is 22 x 30 inches and a limited edition (136/250). This item comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (AB13385).
