Presented here is an original ticket to the ”Showdown” between Sugar Ray Leonard and Thomas Hearns. Both fighters had impressive records heading into the bout, with Leonard sport a 31 – 1 record vs Hearns who was 32 – 0. The fight was scheduled for September 16, 1981 to unify the World Welterweight title. The first fight saw back and forth action from both fighters, with Sugar Ray Leonard coming out victorious winning by TKO in round 14.
Eight years later, a rematch would be booked, billed as “The War”,in a fight that saw it conclude in a draw. This featured ticket is signed by both fighters. Sugar Ray Leonard has signed in black ink at the top of the ticket, while Hearns has signed the bottom in bold blue ink. This ticket in excellent condition and comes encased in a plastic covering that measures 4 ½ x 9 ½ inches. This ticket has been encapsulated by PSA/DNA (83917603) and been graded AUTHENTIC.
