The current Red Sox youth revolution is taking MLB by storm, with Mookie Betts, Jackie Bradley Jr., and Xander Bogaerts all quickly becoming elite Major League hitters. Andrew Benintendi is the next Red Sox player in this line. He made his debut late in 2016, tantalizing Red Sox fans with his superb fielding and quick bat. And now, going into his 2016 Rookie Season, he has been named the #1 Prospect in all of Major League Baseball by the publication Baseball America. Andrew’s items have proven elusive for collectors to find here early in his career.
Early in 2016, played 63 games for the AA Portland Sea Dogs. It was during those games that he wore this navy blue Sea Dogs cap. He signed the brim of the cap in silver Sharpie, adding the inscription “16 GU.” On the inside of the cap he wrote “Benny,” his nickname, in black pen. This item comes with an Anderson LOA (2140), authenticating the game use and signature.
