Offered here is a signed painting of Mickey Mantle. One of the greatest offensive center fielders in baseball history, Mantle led the Yankees to seven World Series titles in his 17-year career. A 1974 inductee to the Hall of Fame, Mantle also saw his #7 retired to Monument Park, joining Ruth, Gehrig, DiMaggio, and the rest of the Yankee greats.
The centerpiece of this painting is a smiling portrait of a young Commerce Comet clad in a black Yankees jacket. He is flanked by two other portraits of himself, one in a left-handed batting stance and the other batting right handed. Mantle, it should be noted, is the all-time leader in home runs by a switch hitter, with 536 career blasts. Mantle signed this painting in black Sharpie, inscribing the date “2/23/’91” below his signature. This canvas is 19 x 15 ½ inches and comes in a 23 x 19 inch dark brown wooden frame.
