Ken Griffey, Jr. announced his arrival in the Majors the only way he knew how - a tremendous double in his first at bat. A week later he hit the first of what would be 630 home runs. From the start, Junior demonstrated what real natural baseball talent looked liked. In an era darkened by steroids, Griffey exemplified all that was pure and real about the game. When he was eligible for the Hall of Fame, Griff was ushered in on the first ballot, a rare tribute by the sportswriters to his tremendous contributions to the game. This bat is from when it all began - Griffey's 1989 rookie season with Seattle. The Louisville Slugger C271 model bat shows moderate use and is un-cracked. Several ball marks with stitch impressions and white leather ball marks can be seen on the barrel and the handle has been taped in a criss-cross pattern to enhance the grip. About as perfect an early Griffey gamer as you can get. This bat comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (1B10762) for the game use and has been graded a GU 8.
