Presented here is a letter written by the deceased rapper and actor Tupac Shakur. Tupac was one of the most popular rap artists in the world during his short time in the spotlight, releasing songs such as “Brenda’s Got A Baby,” “Changes,” “Ambitions Az A Ridah,” “Hit Em Up,” and more. It was also announced that Tupac has been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and is a part of the Class of 2017 inductees. Tupac was part of the culture war of the early 1990s that pitted the West and East coast rappers against each other. Famously, Tupac was a bitter enemy of New York rapper Biggie Smalls, who was murdered a year after Tupac was slain.
Not solely a rapper, Tupac enjoyed a brief but successful film career, starring in “Above The Rim,” “Juice,” “Gang Related,” and more movies. One of the first crossover stars of the hip-hop world, Tupac was already an international star at the time of his premature death in 1996.
Tupac wrote this letter to his paramour in black pen. The letter is incredibly explicit, and is a reply to a “passionate letter” received by ‘Pac. The letter describes the sexual gymnastics that Tupac wishes to perform with his partner, in extremely lurid detail. The letter includes an eye that Tupac drew. He signed the bottom of the letter. This letter has been authenticated by Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication and comes with an LOA (A03090). This lot is also accompanied by a letter of provenance from Jacquelyn Thomas, the recipient LOA.
