In his second full Major League season, Justin Verlander came into his own with a dominant 18-6 season for the Detroit Tigers. A fireballer who frequently hit 100 mph on the radar gun, Verlander followed up his Rookie of the Year campaign with an All-Star appearance in 2007. Verlander struck out 183 batters in 2007 en route to a stellar 8.2 strikeout per nine inning mark. Unfortunately, Verlander’s excellent pitching could not propel the Tigers to the playoffs, as they finished second in the American League Central Division.
This white size 48 Majestic button-down jersey features the Tigers’ timeless “D” logo on the left breast sewn on in navy blue tackle twill. “VERLANDER” and his number “35” are sewn on the back of the jersey in navy tackle twill with a vinyl navy and white MLB logo sewn on the neck. The left sleeve features an embroidered Majestic logo, and a Majestic tag, as well as sizing information, is sewn on the bottom front left tail of the jersey. There is white mesh lining below each armpit. This jersey shows use, with some stains on the back and around the armpits. This item comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (BB 667297), which dates the jersey to a September 26th game against the Minnesota Twins.
In addition to the jersey, a name tag belonging to Verlander is included in this lot. The tag is from the 2012 season and features the Tigers’ “D” logo and Verlander’s number “35.” This item comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (EK 174954).
