The 1926 New York Yankees won the American League with a 91-63 record and finished three games ahead of the Cleveland Indians. In what would be a seven-game series, the Yankees lost to the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series. The series will be best remembered for ending with Babe Ruth being caught stealing second base in the deciding game as the Cardinals held on to the 3-2 victory. 30 members of the 1926 team have signed this unmarked baseball, including Lou Gehrig, Earle Combs, Waite Hoyt, Tony Lazzeri, Miller Huggins, and Herb Pennock. The Babe Ruth signature has been deemed a clubhouse reproduction. Other signatures include Urban Shocker, Bob Meusel, “Sad” Sam Jones, Pat Collins, Spencer Adams, and more. This baseball comes with a LOA (A03072) from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication.
