Of the 23 men to throw perfect games in the Major Leagues, three of them played for the New York Yankees. Don Larsen threw the Yankees first perfecto, a gem vs the Brooklyn Dodgers in the 1956 World Series. To this date, Larsen remains the only pitcher to throw a no-hitter or perfect game in the World Series. His catcher that day was Hall of Famer Yogi Berra, one of the true Yankee icons. The next pitcher to throw a perfect game was David “Boomer” Wells, on May 17, 1998. Wells coincidentally attended the same high school as Don Larsen. He threw his perfect game to Yankee stalwart Jorge Posada.

The final pitcher in this photograph is David Cone, who threw his perfect game just over a year after Wells’ effort. His perfect game took place against the Montreal Expos on July 18, 1999. His catcher that day was current Yankee manager Joe Girardi. Don Larsen threw the ceremonial first pitch that day to his former battery mate Yogi Berra.

This 16 x 20 inch photograph shows all of the Yankees perfect game pitchers standing on the mound with their catchers. Girardi and Cone are on the left, standing arm and arm with Larsen and Berra. Wells and Posada stand to the right. These men, all wearing Yankee pinstripes, signed the photograph over their bodies, with the pitchers adding the date their perfect game happened. This item comes with a PSA/DNA LOA (AB13661).
