Presented here is an incredibly rare Wayne Gretzky NHL shield card. The first autographed shield card ever produced, this relic depicts Gretzky in a rare New York Rangers’ uniform. All other Gretzky shields feature “The Great One” in Los Angeles Kings regalia.
The offered collectible is a serial number, “1/1.” A congratulatory statement from Upper Deck appears on the card's reverse side; this declaration attests to the signature's authenticity, verifies the origin of the card's "patch" component, and serves as the COA for the subject item.
Gretzky’s signature is presented in brilliant silver pen, and features his uniform number “99.” The signature is clear and easy to read, and is in great condition.
