As a first baseman for the St. Louis Cardinals, Keith Hernandez showed promise by capturing a Gold Glove Award in 1978. However, in 1979 Hernandez’s bat came alive as he would go on to lead the league’s batting average at .344, with 48 doubles, and 116 runs scored. Along with earning the NL MVP award that year, along with Willie Stargell, Hernandez was honored y winning the 1979 Missouri Athletic Club Sports Personality of the Year Award (MACSPOTYA). Featured is a Bulova Quarts gold plated clock, made out to Keith Hernandez to commemorate his original award from 1979. This clock is actually from the 30th Anniversary of the (MACSPOTYA), and was dated on November 30, 1999. This clock features a plaque on the top and a plaque with Hernandez’s name on the bottom. It stands 8 ½ x 8 inches, and shows very minute signs of wear, such as small, hardly noticeable stains on the sides. The overall piece is in excellent condition and makes for an interesting show piece.
