Larry Doby was the first African-American to break the color barrier in the American League when he suited up for the Cleveland Indians three months after Jackie Robinson did the same for the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947. This Adirondack/Rawlings 262S model bat was made to the exact specifications that Doby had during the period of 1951-57 for when this bat originated. This bat is 34 inches long and weighs 33.2 ounces and has an ash finish. The bat has a small crack on the upper handle and displays heavy use. Doby signed his name in blue marker on the barrel. This bat comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (1B10918) which attributes this bat as store model bat NOT used by Doby and a COA from PSA/DNA (AC41475) for Doby’s signature.
