Besides having the best name in baseball history, Frank “Lefty” O’Doul was a baseball lifer whose career batting average of .349 is the highest of any player not enshrined in Cooperstown. This bat dates from 1930, the very heart of O’Doul’s short but spectacular career. Following up his .398 1929 season, Lefty tagged National League pitchers for a .383 average and went on to hit .336 in 1931 and .368 in 1932. The Hillerich & Bradsby bat is un-cracked and displays excellent use. Several ball marks with stitch impressions are visible along with cleat imprints and green bat rack paint streaks. A great bat from the very prime of O’Doul’s career. This bat comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (1B07688) for the game use, with a grade of GU 8.
