1951 was the first of Roy Campanella’s three MVP seasons, winning the award every-other year, 1953 and 1955. During the summer of ’51, Campy hit .325 with 33 home runs and helped the Dodgers get within a single playoff game of the pennant. Besides his offensive power, Campy was the National League’s best receiver of the post-war era. His career 57% of base-runners’ thrown out is still the highest in MLB history.

Campy used G80 model bats almost exclusively during the 1950 and 1951 seasons and the center brand of this offered bat dates to the 1950-1951 period as well. The Hillerich & Bradsby G80 shows excellent use with a repaired handle crack. There is some checking on the barrel from repeated ball contact and several ball marks with stitch impressions. Several abrasions are seen on the barrel. The bat comes with a Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA (1B09228) who have graded it a GU 7.
