Tony Lazzeri’s record-shattering 60 home runs as a minor leaguer in 1925 earned him a spot beside Ruth and Gehrig in New York where he held down second base for two of the greatest baseball dynasties of all-time: the 1926-1928 Yankees and the 1936 and 1939 Yankees. Along the way, Lazzeri played in the very first All-Star Game in 1933 and remains the only player in history to top off hitting for the cycle with a grand-slam home run.

     Lazzeri finished his career as one of the best-hitting second sackers in history and many of his Yankees teammates considered him the club’s most valuable player - all the more remarkable when you consider the lineup included Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. PSA/DNA cannot confirm that this was game used by Lazzeri, but the bat is a professional model whose specifications fall within the range ordered by the Hall of Famer during the 1928-1931 period. The Hillerich & Bradsby professional model bat shows great game use and is un-cracked. The barrel shows many ball marks and cleat imprints. There is some checking from repeated ball contact and several small chips in the wood throughout. A “T” is carved into the barrel end and an “M” has been carved in the knob and in between the center brand and signature stamping. A tremendous bat attributed to one of the big guns in the Yankees famed “Murderer’s Row”. This bat comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (1B10861) for the game use.
