The 1971 San Francisco Giants represented the end of a storied era in baseball. This was the last full season that the legendary Willie Mays would play for the Giants, a team built around aging Hall of Famers Mays, Willie McCovey, Juan Marichal and Gaylord Perry. The Giants won the NL West this season, falling to the Pittsburgh Pirates in the League Championship series.
This Official National League Charles S. Feeney baseball is signed by 28 members of the 1971 Giants. Hall of Fame pitcher Juan Marichal’s signature is located on the sweet spot of the baseball. This ball has been signed by Hall of Famers Willie McCovey, Gaylord Perry, and Willie Mays.
