Presented here are three bats used by former members of the New York Mets, including two members of the ’69 Amazin’ Mets. The first bat is a H&B Louisville Slugger S2 Model bat used by All-Star catcher Jerry Grote. Grote used this stick between 1969 and 1972, meaning it could have been used during the Mets run to the title in 1969. This ash stick is cracked between the handle and the barrel. The handle is covered in a light coat of pine tar. The bat displays heavy use. Grote wrote his number, “15,” on the knob and on top of the barrel. This bat comes with a PSA/DNA LOA (1B10925) who graded it a GU 8.5.

The second bat belonged to shortstop Bud Harrelson, another member of the Miracle Mets. The bat is a H&B Louisville Slugger R128 Model, and it was used between 1973 and 1975. This ash bat is cracked and displays moderate to heavy use. The handle is taped with off-white grip tape. The number “41” is written on the knob in black Sharpie. Harrelson only wore “3” with the Mets, and the only player to use “41” between 1973-75 was Hall of Fame pitcher Tom Seaver. This bat comes with a PSA/DNA LOA (1B10926).

The final bat belonged to Lenny Harris, a pinch hitting extraordinaire who spent two separate stints with the Mets. In his first sint, he played the second half of 1998 for the Mets, joining them from the Reds in exchange for John Hudek. In 2000, he was traded to the Mets by the Diamondbacks in exchange for Bill Pulsipher. This H&B Louisville Slugger G175 Model bat was made for the 2003 World Series, which Harris won as a member of the Florida Marlins. This two-toned orange and mahogany bat is un-cracked and does not show evidence of game use. This item comes with a PSA/DNA LOA (I02413).
