McCann was the Redskins general manager from 1947 to 1962, until he took a job as the first director of the NFL Hall of Fame. Today, the Dick McCann Award is given out by the Pro Football Writers Association to a reporter who has made a long and distinguished contribution to pro football coverage. The item offered here is a permit to visit the Redskins locker room after their November 30, 1947 game at Fenway Park against the Boston Yanks.
