From the Wild Card to the World Series, Bobby Valentine's New York Mets took fans on an unforgettable thrill ride. First, there was the come-from-behind NLDS win over the Giants, capped off by Benny Agbayani's Game 3 walk-off HR and Bobby Jones' Game 4 one-hit shutout. Then, in the NLCS triumph against the Cardinals, Mike Piazza batted .412 with two home runss and Mike Hampton took MVP honors for his two wins and zero earned runs. But alas, Jeter and company proved too tough in the Fall Classic, which made history as the first New York Subway Series in nearly a half-century. Since 2000, only about a dozen Mets NL Championship rings have ever reached auction, with just two of those being player examples. Manufactured by Jostens, this 10K-gold, size 10 ring belonged to staff member Adriano Rodriguez and is engraved with his name inside the band. CZ stones compose the interlocking "NY" logo atop a black stone and also accent the corners. NM condition. Accompanied by the high-quality wooden presentation box (6" x 5" x 4", NM), as well as both Rodriguez' signed 2002 LOA and a 2003 purchase LOA.
