Manufactured by Herff Jones, this 14K-white-gold, size 8-1/4 ring hails from the very peak of bowling great Don Johnson's career, 1971, when he received his first PBA Player of the Year honors. Johnson earned 3rd place in the Classic Doubles Tournament, and his name and scores are engraved inside the band: "Don Johnson / 600 / 1312." A nicely enameled ABC shield emblem crowns the red stone on the face. NM condition. Accompanied by a vintage Herff Jones ring box and 2002 purchase LOA. Don Johnson's Hall of Fame entry on the PBA website reads, "Johnson, holder of 26 tour titles, was named the PBA Player of the Year in 1971 and 1972. He won his first tournament in 1964 and also captured the Tournament of Champions when he rolled the historic 299 game during the ABC-TV finals in 1970. He won at least one title in 12 straight seasons (1966-77) and captured multiple titles in seven consecutive seasons (1967-73). Won Steve Nagy Sportsmanship Award in 1977 and ranked eighth greatest player in PBA history in 2009."
